After Hurricane Dorian devastated the Bahamas, like many of those in our community, we looked for ways to help. Just days after the storm Operation 300 was up and running gathering supplies and planning trips for sending to those in need.
We were lucky to catch a
glimpse of them loading up the first helicopter of many, with some of the items we donated.
Since then we have seen an immense outpouring of support from the community to assist Operation 300 and other non-profits in our area to get the supplies and volunteers to the areas where they are needed most. It is always heartwarming to watch so many in our community come together and put the needs of others above their own. According to https://op300.org/treasure-coast-abacos-relief-project, as of 9/23 they have collected over 1 Million pounds of relief items and have directly transported those supplies to the affected islands. Please visit their site if you are interested in finding out how you can help, whether by donation or volunteering.
It has been a month since we witnessed the destruction of many of our beloved Bahamian islands and while much as been done to help recovery will be a long ongoing project. We intend to continue to support this relief effort and hope you do to!
