There’s nothing more exciting than when you decide to shop for a new car. While you’re swept up in all the excitement, you need to keep a few things in mind for your potential insurance rates.
- Type of car: It’s well known that those flashy sports cars are supposed to get higher premium rates. That can happen but really it’s the price of a car that really decides it. Simply put, more expensive cars cost more to insure, regardless of it’s a sports car or SUV.
- Safety: This sounds sort of obvious, but make sure the car you get is safe. Make sure it has all the safety features such as air bags. But the more safety features on the vehicle, the lower your rates could be. That includes non-traditional features such as side air-bags and a rearview camera. Anti-theft measures on a car can also make it cost less to insure. If you make sure the car you get is as safe it can be, you won’t have to pay as much for insurance.
- Location: The area that you work and live in comes into play when deciding your insurance rates. If you live in an area with high crime rates, your rates could increase. Safer locations will save you money.
When you do pick out your new car make sure to call R.V. Johnson Insurance at (772) 287-3366 for more information on West Palm Beach auto insurance.
